SKIRRETS (sium sisarum - umbelliferae)
Here follows the description from Chilterns seed catalogue
The emoeror Tiberius liked it so much that he demanded it as a tribute from
the germans who had evidently introduced the plant from china. It is grown
for it's numerous swollen, fleshy roots, formed in bundles just below ground
level, and having the appearance of long, slender dahlia tubers. These were
once esteemed as one of the sweetest, whiteset and most pleasant of roots
when used in the manner of Salsify or Scorzonera.

Hope that clears things up a little

Blessed be Rowanne
