HERB - Hack hack cough cough

As a child, I had chronic bronchitis. As a teen/young adult in choir, I caught
every passing respitory infection -- and they all settled in my chest. I have
had pneumonia once, and bronchitis countless times. Nothing from the doctor
EVER helps my coughs, even when it contains codine. Eventually, I tried this
tea, and it WORKED:

Mix equal parts:

Horehound
Colstfoot
Marshmallow
Licorice

(all expectorants or demulcents)

To this, add "1/2 part":
rose hips (rich in Vitamin C)
anise seeds (I forget why just now, but it sure tastes good)
chamomile.

Brew as tea, using 1 tsp. herbs/cup water. Serve with lemon juice & at least 1
TBS honey per cup. (Both these are medicine, too, AND make it taste good.)
Take the steam into your lungs before drinking, and continue to inhale the
steam as you drink. (In fact, do this with all hot beverages... and your
shower... and any other handy steam...)

I've tinkered with the recipe over the years, adding things like sage
(anti-infection) and slippery elm (so soothe those passages) as I had access/
started working with them, but the core recipe is pretty much the same.

Hope you breathe easy!
