Greetings from Rauthulfr;
(If I may be forgiven for a blatant herbalish announcement)
Once again it is time for the Herbal Guild of An Tir's Mystery Seed Contest!
The Mystery Seed Contest
The seed packets for the Mystery Seed Contest are ready and waiting for you
to send in your request to Lady Desideria the Guild Contest Coordinator
(please include a self-addressed stamped envelope and $3 to cover
expenses). We have just mailed the packets for the first two
contestants. Canadian entrants should include $4.00 US with an un-stamped
self-addressed envelope.
In return you will receive a packet with seeds from four period plant
species and growing instructions.
Contest seeds will be available at May Crown. Look for our Guild Banner on
site.
* The rules are simple:
There are two ways to win: Be the first to identify the most plants;
or send in the best story about how your poor little seedlings went to meet
their maker.
The first and second persons to correctly identify the most plants by Genus
and Species (thats the Latin names) are the identification winners!
You can send in your IDs as soon as you are sure of them. There is no
requirement to grow the plants to maturity first!
You may update your entry as often as you like. If your identification
changes as the plant matures, you can send an updated ID.
Identifications will be dated according to when they arrive at the Guild
Contest Central; in the event of a tie, this date will be used to determine
which arrived first. If both arrive on the same day then duplicate prizes
will be awarded.
And as always: if the darn things just up and die, there is a prize for the
very best Shaggy-dog [Shaggy-plant?] story about your failure!
Stories will be judged based upon creativity, style, and originality.
All stories and plant identifications must be received by August
20. Winners will be announced at September Crown.
Send in your IDs and Shaggy-dog stories to Lady Desideria by postcard or
e-mail. Lady Desideria Caerulea c/o Stephanie Bonsanti, 13625 SE Fairwood
