I think we have regular and period references for any number of
system cleansing rituals and practices for the middle ages and
renaissance, but I think the one that would be most common for
health, and timed for the seasons right now would probably be
a modified fast, supplmented with herb teas. This is actually
not my area of expertise, to be honest but perhaps someone on
the list can give a decent summary of how the religious holidays,
medieval health views, and cooking practices all came into play
with regards to system cleansing and how that might be put
into practice today. Barring information from someone on
this list, you might try the chapter on fasting in
