HERB - Peppermint

Mine has only been in the pot for several weeks but it seems to be doing
fine.  It grows so differently from the spearmint, which grows upwards - the
peppermint seems to grow outwards, like a ground cover.

Previous posters said that their peppermint died in a container.  I guess
I'm
pessimistic in my container gardening.  I usually can't keep things alive in
a pot for some reason.  Anyone have good luck with peppermint in a pot?
