HERB - colds and flu

My exact recipe isn't very. I mix up the herbs I am going to use (I
usually keep a jar of mixed herbs available). I mix equal parts of
honey, lemon juice, and brandy, and add the dried herbs. For a cup of
liquid, about a tablespoon of herb mix. Let it all stand 2 weeks or so,
filter through paper towel or coffee filter. That's all there is to it.

Tastes good [even my kids like it]. Take a tablespoon or so as needed.
Alcohol about 14 percent by volume. Can use bourbon, rum, or vodka, but
brandy is better for flavor. I always include hoarhound, licorice and
chamomile to get the flavor I like (chamomile for flavor more than
medicinally useful). Other herbs as needed. Need it in a hurry? Put it
all in the blender and blend. Let stand overnight, then filter and use.
Keeps for several years. Works good.

Useful herbs were mentioned in previous posts. I also use non-period
herbs - echinacea [boosts immune function], white boneset [febrifuge],
pleurisy root [expectorant], willow bark [fever and pain - don't use if
allergic to aspirin]... I use several expectorants because colds always
settle in my lungs, since I have asthma. You might not need all of them.
 Have fun!
