Yes he did.  Fill a jar with comfrey root, add alcohol (rubbing if you know
you won't be consuming it otherwise vodka or everclear - he used everclear
because it's strength pulled the comfrey stuff from the root better) let it
sit for about 6 weeks shaking it daily, strain and you have the tincture.
