[Herbalist] EO recommendations for muscle rub

Well, I use clove oil in the salve I make for topical application because
of its theraputic properties.  We use the salve for everything, with no
problems.  

I was told by someone who distilled some of their own EOs that the proper
proportions of EO are 10 drops per ounce of carrier oil (or solid).  At
this dilution you do not get skin irritation.  (If someone was extremely
sensitive, perhaps less).  I use this rule of thumb and have had no
complaints.  

I will admit that 10 drops of peppermint oil in carrier applied to mucous
membranes is a bit much (no, I won't explain how I know this...<grin>)
