Senior Database Administrator (SQL DBA)
SavaSeniorCare Administrative Services LLC, a leader in the long-term care industry, is seeking a
Senior Database Administrator (SQL DBA) to work in the Houston Shared Services Office.
 
Job Summary:
The Senior Database Administrator (SQL DBA) position is responsible for all SQL applications and
their respective databases.  The DBA is responsible for all maintenance, design, configuration,
installation, and monitoring all aspects of the SQL environments.

Key Responsibilities:
·	Extensive knowledge of SQL Server Databases, including design, installation, and performance
tuning.
·	Extensive knowledge of SQL Server system architecture.
·	Extensive knowledge of Transact-SQL.
·	Experience working with SQL Server Transactional Replication.
·	Moderate to extensive experience working with databases on a Windows 2003 Server platform.
·	Knowledge of SQL Server 2000 through SQL Server 2005 SP2.
·	Extensive knowledge of SQL Server security 
·	Experience assisting in orchestrating, planning, testing and implementing SQL Server application
and Service Pack upgrades.
·	Technical skills should include strong working knowledge and experience in SQL Server, SQL
Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server replication topologies and
MS Excel.

Non-technical Skills:
·	Strong organizational skills.
·	Strong communication skills - this job requires communication with other team members, corporate
staff, and facility employees.
·	Ability to work under pressure.
·	Ability to work independently or in a group with minimal direction (need to be able to work
through all the details of broad-minded projects, and know how and where to find the needed
information to complete those projects).
·	Willingness and ability to adapt and to learn new skills.

Functional Responsibilities:
·	Development Database Creation and Refreshes
·	Production Database Monitoring/Maintenance
·	SQL Upgrades and Installations
·	Performance Tuning
·	Backup of the ORACLE Senior DBA

Knowledge and Skills:
Database Administrator (Oracle DBA)
·	Install and upgrade SQL Database Versions as necessary.
·	Maintain and Monitor Production Databases.
·	Create/Maintain/Refresh production, development and test databases as requested.
·	Perform Database reorganizations as necessary.  
·	ORACLE DBA knowledge
·	PeopleSoft and UNIX knowledge from a DBA perspective

Education:
·	B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering Required.  
·	5+ years SQL Server experience
·	2+ years SQL Server 2005 experience
