The "Elf" or David Stepchinski had a very close call with the beyond during hurricane IKE. He has scare tissue on his lungs and when he sleeps at night he is getting to much carbon monoxide which can kill him. He has had a tracheotomy and is hooked up to a ventilator machine, but at times they adjust it so he can talk. They have corrected his thyroid medication because his body now needs a different amount and this has improved his stamina and allowed him to gain some weight.

He is at Triumph hospital (behind Clear Lake Regional) in intensive care, room #104, the phone number in his room is 281-316-7904. He can have visitors 24hrs a day, but the front entrance is closed from 10pm until 6am. 

They are hoping he will get well enough to have a trach collar that will make him mobile. Time will tell what will be the best medical treatment for him. 

He would love to hear from his friends.He may be at this hospital for about 2 to 3 weeks more.
