Although I felt much better on Monday, Amber pulled a muscle in her back and can stand up only with help from me - we are heading to the doctor first thing in the morning.

May you collective healt return quickly!!!

The others are far more qualified to tell their own tales, but all in all, Loch Ruadh fared well.

Lady Gabrielle may well be able to claim the highest dollar damage among those in Loch Ruadh with several problems concerning the camper. The storms blew in quickly while we sped back to the site after dinner. We arrived just in time for the winds to have really picked up and recovered our decorations with little loss. However, the stitching
of the awning ripped and the awning blew off, almost literally in my hands as I tried to take it down. Also, the lift system for the camper is broken, presumably due to the winds, and will only go down a little more than halfway. Consequently, when we finished up and left Sunday night around 10 or 11, we faced a 100 mile drive at about 45
MPH (the fastest we could go without the now flimsy and anti-aerodynamic camper steering for us if we went any faster). Theoretically, this is about a 2 1/5 hour drive, but that doesn't account for having to stop and retuck and restrap the tent of the the now highly inflatable camper. Nor does it take into account that it was also Memorial
Day, with its attendant traffic levels.

Our both being exhausted from the weekend was not a good thing either, so when we reached the Rip Griffin Truck Stop, we pulled over and took about a three hour nap. By the time we'd had some rest, headed on home, dropped the camper off at it's storage lot and got to bed, it was just about first light Monday morning!

Luckily, the camper is insured and hopefully all the storm damage will be covered.

On a brighter note, we were quite touched by all the assistance offered us by people enroute to the safety of the hall. We were camped at the edge of the Civic Center parking lot nearest the bathhouse. Our camp was quite visible, being virtually on the path the the hall. Passersby offered aid, some of which we accepted. One young lord was
obviously conflicted with the choice between helping us and seeking shelter.

In particular Lady Gwenllian helped load possessions into the truck and Tarik, Yomar and Wylie stayed during the thickest, hardest rain, when we were struggling with the doomed lift. They refused to leave until we left. Thank you all again!

As for Warlord being jinxed, the primary problem is simply that it is scheduled during a time of year when stormy and rainy weather is most likely. It's just statistically likely to happen....

We kept reminding each other about how we could have been sunning on a Cancun beach.....

> Let's hope that the bad weather has worn itself out by the time August arrives.

Methinks that we may be PRAYING for a cooling rain in August... :):):)

Sluggy!
