Bjorn here,

Passage of Arms was pretty darn good ;-)

Despite a shower this morning, Thor decided not to bestow that "R" thing
upon us during the day; however, the wind was quite chilly.

We were running on SCA time, as usual. I was planning on arriving early to
help set up. I still did, but I got there when the event was supposed to
get going. Once things got rolling, the day went pretty fast. Rapier was
first, then armored combat, then archery. There were around 10 or so rapier
fighters, and the fighting looked pretty decent from where I was(at that
point armoring up and putting thrusting tips on Dunstan's sword, I think).

There were somewhere around 10-12 heavy fighters in the armored combat
tourney. The tourney was a bear pit with wounds retained and the winner
keeping the field until he dies or yields(in other words, no 3 wins and then
move on and what not). I fought with a new unpadded glaive most of the
time, and a new greatsword the rest. Almost all of the other fighters were
using the tried and true sword/shield combination, except a few tried
florentine or greatsword now and then. Even Airaklee fought with a shield!
It was a center grip oval, but hey it worked! ;-)

After the tourney we did some small melees, and those were lots of fun too.
The rapier fighters did some melees while the heavy tourney was going on as
well.

I didn't really pay much attention to the archery shoot, although I do know
that Trevor(Fearghus's son) was tied for first at one point. It's genetic I
tell you, genetic!

Court was relatively short, which I didn't mind at all. Galen and
Allesandre chose more people for the guard than tabards available, so some
sewing is to be done.

All in all a good event.
