[Loch-ruadh] Tavern at Defender

Medb here...

First, let me say thank you, thank you, thank you for agreeing to be the
Steward Minders for Afan and I. I was thrilled to find out you all had said
yes. This is my first event to autocrat in the SCA so I am sure I will have
a few moments when I forget to do things like eat and drink.

Second, just to update you on tavern stuff...

Yes, whomever runs the drinks tavern gets to keep all of the cash. That is
why we decided to offer up this option to the cantons and the college first,
before we went looking afar.

No, we have not committed to a site yet. Tanglewood is reserved, but Afan
has a line on another site more suited to our needs. Cross your fingers,
light a candle, say a prayer, we need all the luck we can muster.

Neither option for site is likely to solicit a visit from the health
department, which can pretty much be a certainty at Canton; however, using
all of those wonderful techniques they teach in food handling class is a
great idea .

Not sure what options will be available for electric or water. Tanglewood
is very limited on both, the other option is unknown to me.

We have not gotten to the point in planning Defender where we look at who is
running the various Defender lists. I can tell you that we both want to
make sure that we pass the work around so that no one person or group is
over-committed. People tend to get cranky when they are overworked. I can
only speak for myself on this--I personally don't want the people taking
care of me to get anywhere near cranky.

Hope this helps...

in service,
Medb Liath
(who is sure she will be even more gray before this is all done and
over...where did I put that Clairol bottle?)
