Actually it will work next year, too, but you will need to add 1753 or
1752. The following year, 1754 or 1753, etc. Really, this number in the
formula is the current year minus 250 if you've had your birthday, 251
if not, so it will work with any year.

I think it will fail once the current year is less than a certain
amount, probably around 250 or 251, possibly 250 plus your age. I tried
the current year of 716 (added 465) and subtracted the year of birth of
700 and it worked, but with a current year of 130, I couldn't make the
negative numbers fall in the right place.
