There will always be security problems,
I've been on security at Penis, when mundane got on to the site.

I won't touch this, just couldn't resist pointing it out.

Franky, and no offense to anyone out there who was working at the
time, but we're our own worst enemy when it comes to security.

Last year with the kids in a truck tossing water baloons, for
instance, giving chase in golf carts was a less than optimal response
to the situation. First off, regarless of all the angry words about
"citizen's arrest" and "I know the law" I heard when I staggered up
and mentioned it was probablly better not to give chase, unless you
are a TCLOSE acredited peace officer in your home jurisdiction you're
taking a HUGE liability risk, both personally and for the Barony, if
you actually managed to catch and detain someone, especially if any
force was involved.* Second, chasing a truck in golf cart(s) only
causes the truck to speed away and adds one or more additional
speeding vehicles to the fray. The water ballons were annoying. A
truck going 30 through the site, at night, could be deadly. A golf
cart isn't much better.

The first job of security is to protect people's lives and well
being. After that comes protecting property. Preventing annoying ppl
from doing annoying things is way down on the list.

All that being said, I *know* you can close the roads at the Canton
site. I've been out to First Trade Days when they have done it to
prevent ppl who have not paid for certain passes from going to
various areas. This may involve a different type of city permit, or
hiring a city cop or some such (or maybe just doing it without
permission), but no one seemed to mind during the trade days. I don't
understand why that should be such a problem for us. Certainly the
city doesn't want one of our children to be hit by a car in the
middle of the night (if not out of human decency than fear of a
lawsuit). A few "detour" signs and sawhorses around the main camping
area is all it would take.

*And you don't even have to do anything wrong. You can do everything
100% right and still spend tens of thousands of dollars in court. Do
it wrong and you can end up in jail.
