[Loch-Ruadh] OT - car question

Greetings!

Thought I'd check with you intelligent people on this very OT question:  How can I get a broken key out of a car ignition without taking the steering column apart, if it is possible?  Seems Ivar Bigwrench (aka Logan) didn't know his own strength when driving my car last night, and busted off his key in my switch!  Aaarrggghhh!!  I'm afraid it will cost lots of money to rectify.  In the meanwhile, his half key is the only key that will work to start the car.  Of course, a different (unbroken) key is needed to unlock the door....
