[Loch-Ruadh] Re: Alric's knee surgery

I stayed home with home him yesterday to fetch and carry, and I came home early today.  So far, he is getting around pretty good on the crutches we borrowed (thanks again Kaz).  He is gritching about wanting to take the wrapping off and wanting to take a shower and how much it itches and all the other things he can think of to gritch about. He really isn't very gritchy, he's mostly just bored.  Alric couldn't be overly gritchy if he worked hard at it.  He will get the wrapping off and a shower tomorrow, so he will be in a happier frame of mind then.  His boredom has been somewhat relieved today with a marathon of Firefly on the SciFi channel (some of which he hasn't seen previously) so he is better today.  He has been able to put a little weight on the leg, but not much.  After the wrapping comes off, that should improve.

    We got home from the surgery center about 30 minutes ago and Alric has been fed and tucked ensconced on the couch.  Having just had a pain pill, I suspect he will be sleeping shortly.  The procedure went as expected and the doctor said that he can get up and move around on it as much as he wants.  It hurts right now, but the pain pills should take care of that fairly soon.
