This is just a short note to let everyone know that Logan had shoulder surgery yesterday. He had been scheduled for March 3rd, but there was a cancellation, so he was able to have it done yesterday at the VA hospital in Dallas.

They replaced part of the ball of the shoulder and removed a huge bony flange from the scapula. This required a muscle to be taken down and then re-stitched, so he will be in an immobilizer for a while to allow the muscle to heal.

The doctor thinks the bony flange was the main reason (along with lots of bone spurs) for Logan's intense pain (and I have to ask -- his crankiness?), and thinks that after physical therapy, Logan may actually be able to work at the forge again.
