Galveston is still closed to incoming traffic.  Officials are starting to let residents in to check on their property, then they have to leave.  You must have proof of residency.  The traffic is lined up for miles.  It would be best to NOT come back till closer to the end of the week.

I'm also one of those new to the Loch. I evacuated Galveston with my family,
and we're staying with friends (the ones who talked me into joining the SCA
;) ) in Waco.

We're expecting the Island to be closed until at least Tuesday, and
we're
getting mixed reports on the state of the neighborhood.
