[Namron] Question to the Mead Experts out There...

Aline,

While no expert on making mead. I do consider myself an expert on drinking
it. The homebrew meads you find are mostly a bit sweeter and lighter than
the commercial grade ones. The first mead I ever drank was Chaucers. I
found it quite good and much to my liking. There are still small town
liquor stores who stock it just because there are a few Society members who
come in and stock up on cases of it for events. I used to be one of them.
I guess what I am saying is, If you don't wanna wait around for the mead to
be made and the gentles who made it to be most kind in giving it to you in
large enough quantities to satiate your thirst for it. Then Chaucers is the
way to go. If you want to try something out of the ordinary and truly
exquisite then wait around for the homebrew stuff.

Let me start by saying that I am fully aware that made
from scratch, non-mass produced anything is almost
always better (except, perhaps, for home bottle
redwine by people who have no idea what they are
doing...**shudder, isch**).

Duly noting that, I happened to notice some commercial
meads in the local wine emporium while buying my
father's birthday gift. I remember one was Chaucer's,
can't remember the other. Are any of these worth my
time, or do I just need to sit back and wait until I
move to Namron is a week and a half's time?

Aline
