Hey guys,

I am sad to report that there are no Brewers/ Mazers in the Local group here
:(
Happily that means that I will be the only one (and by default the best/ or
maybe the worst) once I get the equipment together!

The fighter practices here are very nice, and the people friendly. I was
much greived by the stereotype Ansteorrians have in this kingdom as being,
"More than a bit thick in the Hide."

After a quick lecture on local standards, some calibration assuring them
that I could indeed call a blow then adjusting the force of my weapon blows
down from the "bone crushing, helmet deforming" standard of Ansteorra, the
practice went well.

I do not think of myself as being a particularly hard hitter, but shots that
would have routinely been called light back home were called "Very Good,
ease up a little" here and more calls (usually from the attacking side of
the blow) like "Tippy or Glancing" or the occasional call of "Haft" on a
glave shot to let the opponent know NOT to call an iffy shot.

It turns out the local standard blow is what we would call *very light* in
Ansteorra with more attention on the technique and accuracy of the blow
rather than on the force, more like a point competition in Tae Kwon Do,
rather than a Heavy Weight Boxing style of fighting we are used to. I
presume this area is a normal indicator for the rest of this kingdom given
the number and quality of fighters at pracitce, including a Count and many
squires. It did make for a fun practice and a good workout.

I will try to drop by with more notes on my travels later.
I hope this finds everyone in good health and spirits.

Yours Truely,

Gavin (Agent 000)
