[Namron] Mentoring

my two cents here if I may, I m going to give some issues/techniques that I had to deal with and how I managed to get the Combined practice off the ground.
Some back ground 
The first combined practice was a "disaster" there were only five fighters in attendance, compare this with the last one we hosted. where we had 20 heavies, seven lights and 3 combat archers, plus all of the support crew.
One I didn't moan about it to just my home group, I went out and started cornering people at revels,events and practices. I didn't just confine myself to just heavy fighters either
A short list of people who were contacted by title/position for this upcoming practice

All the northern Chivalry and centurions that I have e-mail address for.
All the Northern Dons that I have e-mail addys for
The Namron, Northern Region, Weisenfeur, Moonshadowe and Eldern Hills E-mail lists
The unofficial e-mail lists of the Ansteorran marshals and Allthings Ansteorra
His Majesty
His Highness
Kingdom Earl Marshal
Northern Regional Knights Marshal
Northern Regional Chiurgeon
Kingdom Siege Weapon Marshall 
Namron Siege Marshal
Northern Regional Water Bearers Guild
Ulf and Maleah
The Marshals of each of the sponsoring groups ( both heavy and light)
The seneschals of Namron,Skargard, and Eldern Hills
The Hospitilers of Namron and Skargard and their deputies
The established Fighter Support crew from Namron
I have contacted Daniel Blackaxe about getting all of his fighters to this
And have cornered and tried to pin down as many of the Chivalry, Nobility,White Scarves,Centurions, and Arctus Majoris as I can in person.
In addition I have also used word of mouth to spread this around, I don't have the contact info for our current protector, but someone did and said they would ensure that he knew about it. This is how Skargard got Duke Michael of Momithshire to the practice they sponsored


In short It took work and dealing with a large variety of people with a large variety of interests to get this thing to the point that at the last practice we had a Duke that hadn't been seen in almost ten years to show up and participate
It also took almost six months of this kind of effort, starting small and growing a bit bigger each time learning from the mistakes that were made.

  Suggestions to get more people involved:
  1.  Ask people personally.  This helps in two ways:  making sure they know (hard to hear at pop, not everyone is on the list, etc) and letting someone know that you think they would be good at it (doesn't naturally occur to everyone).

  2.  Never stop mentioning it "officially" - send an article to the Plume every month including updates about the success of the program and what's needed, always bring it up in populace, publically thank people who help and publically introduce the newcomers.
