Jim,
Sounds like you want Celtic music. There's modern
Celtic (Enya, Clannad, etc) and classic or traditional
Celtic. All are good.

As to being a "newbie", I've only been playing a year
now and haven't had the chance to go to many events,
but do try my best to get to Populace. I'm still
putting names and faces together at times, but it's
all good, and everyone's very helpfull and forgiving
of goof ups! If it helps to put my name to a face, I
was the crazy one NOT in Garb near the end of last pop
meeting to stand up and remind everyone about the care
packages for Troops in Iraq.

Are you new to the SCA in general, or just new to
Namron? I'm still learning a lot myself in regards
to, well, everything I guess! But I'm having fun
sorting it all out. If there's any way that I or my
kin might be of help as you get more, or wish to get
more involved, don't hesitate to ask!

And have fun!

=====
Samarrah bint Annaan, Princess of Pie Procurement

God be with you in every pass. Jesus be with you on every hill. Spirit be with you in every stream, headland, ridge and law, each sea and land, each moor and meadow, lying down and rising up, in the trough of the waves or on the crest of the billow. Each step of the journey you go, go with God.
