[Namron] rookie question

mine has always formed clusters like dryed salt looks.  kind of a ruddy
brown and snowflake like

ok someone set my mind at ease, my airlock is burping so i figure my
yeast is doing well, should it look like there is chunks of well how do i
say it (snot ) in the mixture? is that the yeast culture at work?
