[Namron] Camp Cimarron

A good idea when evaluating a site for acessibility is to take someone who
is/has been in a wheelchair or powerchair (which actually tend to be larger
and bulkier) and who is knowledgable about accessibility requirements with
you. And take the wheelchair whether the person is in need of it currently
or not. Sometimes even with measurements it's difficult to tell just how
accessible it is without actually trying to motivate it in a chair. Just
because a building has a ramp doesn't mean the ramp is the correct ratio of
height to distance. It also doesn't help much if the ramp leads into a
building with too narrow of a door or a door with a step up or step over
threshold.

I think you may be confusing 2 sites. Samhain was held at Camp Kate, in
Granite, OK, not at Ekowah. However, the concern is valid and
definitely something to take into consideration.
I haven't finished tallying the books for Protectorate yet, and haven't
looked at the contract as to price, since I recently took over as
treasurer. However, we had just under 400 people sign in.

Ekowah also only has 2 handicapped accessible buildings both are feast
halls. None of the cabins are accessible, the latrine is in one of the
feast halls and is not exactly accessible. Can get into bathroom just
cant get chair into any of the stalls. The ground there is good and flat
but it also has a secondary concern for me, other than the access issue.
That stupid mountain in the middle of camp. Namron is a child friendly
Barony. Last Samhein's ran by Eldern a child crawled up it and was on a
ledge... caused quite a stir, people were rushing to get the child
before it plummeted to its death. They really should build a fence or
something to help a bit.

The Camp Cimarron price increase everyone is mentioning was only for the
3 day events. They went from $7.50 to $10 for adults. I believe that was
3 years ago.
Camp E-Ko-Wah charges by facility use per day. If you reserve all
cabins, both houses, the long house and feast hall for 2 days and the
pool for 1 day it costs about $550 (I don't have the exact figures right
now). Extend that by 50% for a 3 day event. There are also charges for
the lake front and archery range if we use their equipment (e.g. bows)
but we don't.
