  Unto the Wonderful, Courteous, and Honorable Rapier Fighters of the
Barony of Wiesenfeuer and to any other Rapier Fighters to whom this
missive may be forwarded (hint: feel free to forward to Namron, or any
other group you believe might have interested rapier fighters);

Greetings:

The Honorable Lord Etienne de Saint Amaranth and Lady Rosamund
Blaunchflur are pleased to announce a small (and surprise, so do not
mention it to her) tournament in honor of the birthday of their eldest
daughter (a Byzantine), Theodora Tzykandelina. The tournament site
will open between 1 and 2 in the afternoon with the tournament
starting around 2:30, at Theodora's pleasure.

The tournament will be a double elimination format. Fighters are
welcome to continue practicing after the tournament. Combatants, at
Theodora's pleasure, will be assigned a color as will her guests of
the party. Combatants will represent and champion Theodora's guests
who choose the same color. Guests (children) will be designing arms/
devices which they will color on the fighter's token and they will
also be decorating small cakes with the arms they select.

Combatants wishing to enter, and get in a last set of practice prior
to traveling to the Gulf Wars, need to respond to Lady Rosamund no
later than Wednesday, March 4, who will forward formal invitations
with directions and further information. Site is in NW Oklahoma
City. No tents or pavillions can be erected but bring chairs, etc.

This is not an official or SCA sponsored event in any way. But the
tournament, for the sake of practice, will be conducted according to
SCA rules and armor requirements and this should be treated as any
other unofficial backyard practice.

The 10-day forecast currently predicts a 72 degree day, partly cloudy,
with a 10% chance of rain.

If we do not have enough combatant interest, then we'll forgo the
tournament (another reason not to mention it to Theodora).

Children's invitations are forthcoming but if you have a son or
daughter who would feel comfortable at a (to be) 7-year-old's birthday
party, make sure you let Lady Rosamund know and we'll make sure your
child gets an invite.
