Greetings all!

The Grand Assembly of Archers is almost here!

There are a few things you will need to know about site before you arrive. Due to the flooding of Camp Dakani earlier this summer, both suspension bridges are down. We had hopes that they might get repaired before the event season started, but it's just not going to happen. Also, the city road that runs alongside camp also has a bridge out.

If you are coming in off of I-35, the only gate you can enter into will be Gate 3, which is where Troll will be. Once on site, the only way from one side of the creek to the other will be the low water crossing. Baron D'Alder has graciously given permission to drive across it, but it is very narrow and can be treacherous is one is not careful. Gate 1 will be open (the one on the uphill side of camp that brings you in by the feast hall), but to get in Gate 1 you will have to drive around the mile section and come in from the west on Hefner Road.

We are encouraging people to camp on the Gate 1 side of site, because that is where the Saturday evening court and revel will be. If you are at all familiar with site, keep this in mind when you arrive. Only part of tent city will be available for camping. It is a LONG walk from tent city to the low water crossing. The entire region known as the Hollow and the sites along the trails will be open to camp in as well.

I hope that this does not discourage anyone from coming out to the event. We have had to make some adjustments due to Mother Nature this year, but it is going to be a great event!

Hope to see you there!

GAA co-autocrat
