I'll disagree with you.  Officer reports should be given in front of the
populace.  The populace needs to be informed of what is going on in the
Barony, and I don't think you'll get that if you keep the officer reports
for officer meetings.

AMEN!

This has long been my issue with populace meetings as they are.  
Personally, I think that officer reports should be saved for officer's 
meetings.  Perhaps the Seneschal could give a quick "State of the 
Barony" summation at populace meeting to go over anything that is 
actually new.  It would give us time to go over things like upcoming 
events or projects that the populace would like to discuss, or just 
spend time enjoying each other's company or learning something new.

So the idea is that we don't actually need to shorten the meeting, just 
change the focus from officer reports that could literally be recorded 
and played back month after month to something interesting and 
productive.  If actual business needs to be conducted, such as writing 
checks, or planning work days, that can still be done at the meeting 
without having to sit though all the reports.

Just my two cents.
