[Namron] Baronial Equipment - Repair List

Actually, I think part of the problem with the GP may have been that the stakes kept being re-hammered into the same spot. After a couple of times, the dirt would have been packed in such a way that the stake had nothing to grip. In hindsight, they would have worked much better if they had been pulled and moved a few inches and re-set at least once each day in the wind. From what I was told, it was the stakes coming loose which allowed the poles and canvas to fly as badly as they did. Also, as Tadhg mentioned, lowering the poles back to their original height so the walls could be staked down also.

Based on what I saw this weekend, here are some of my additions:

GP Mediums- These now need to be fast track retired and completely removed
from our inventory. Once again, despite close monitoring, we had a near
serious accident at Fair. We have been acquiring enough quality canvas the
GPs are only taking up valuable storage space.

Dagged Pavilion - Annabelle and Mistress Alix indicated they can recover the
dag border and replace the canvas body. And a new Pole Set can be built.
This is a well designed well built tent set that simply needs to be updated.

Stakes - The large and small "J-Hook" stakes from Panther can be ordered
individually and like Vincenti indicated, we need extras, including enough
to allow us to use all the walls and securely stake them down when we do.
As we standardize our stake inventory, all the old odds and ends stakes need
to be cleared out. Loose walls are an invitation to disaster when there is
wind no matter how well the tent itself is designed and built.

Tent Raising - I joined the SCA to learn how to raise big tents and if
Ringling Brothers ever goes back to playing under canvas, I have a career :)
I am in favour of hosting some recurring classes on how to raise and
maintain these tents so when we call for tent crews, everyone is on the same
page. Not only is this crucial to preventing damage to the tents, but we
always have to keep safety as the top concern, especially on windy days.

Rope Sets - It should not be too difficult to come up with a large supply of
standardized ropes/tensioners allowing us to keep extras with each tent set
along with a general back up pool.

I am starting a list of some of the things that may have been broken,
torn, missing, or needing improvement
