[Namron] medieval combat

The Talhoffer book is one of the most studied books of period military
history, and if you look beyond the hand to hand combat, you see an array of
interesting and often mysterious siege and other military gadgets. Recently
NatGeo or one of the similar channels did a documentary analyzing and
interpreting some of the more unusual items, attempting to figure out what
exactly they were and then recreating them.

Talhoffer was also an arms merchant and this book was actually his
catalog-much of the descriptive text he wrote was intentionally mysterious.
After all he did not want to give away his store for free.

All in all, it is a great book, even just for the illustrations. As Baron
Orlando recently highlighted in a class on Iconography, which is the
interpretation of images, you can have plenty of fun and fuss analyzing the
illustrations.
