I would love to take this class to update what I already have, but unfortunately I cannot make it to any of the meetings, since i work currently on Thursdays until 11pm. Is there any class that is either just a fri/sat or maybe a fri/sat/sun?

I know that many of your members have assisted at many minor Medieval Fair emergencies as well as being very responsive to community emergencies throughout the year. This looks like a great opportunity for your members! Please distribute as you can.

> If you are interested in learning how you can help your family and others until first responders arrive at the scene of a disaster, just enroll and participate in this free, three-day Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course.
> The CERT program teaches people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and explains basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. By using the training learned in the classroom and during training exercises, CERT members can assist their families and others in emergencies when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
> It has been proven that during major emergencies citizens can work together more effectively if they have prior planning and training. CERT training will enhance the ability of individuals and neighborhoods to reduce their emergency needs and to manage their existing resources until professional assistance becomes available.
> Completing the CERT course increases citizens’ ability to be "ready" during a disaster and qualifies interested citizens to apply for the Norman Emergency Response Volunteer (NERV) program.
> It all starts with you enrolling and participating in a CERT course sponsored by the City of Norman Emergency Management, Norman Citizen Corps, and the Norman Emergency Response Volunteer (NERV) program. NOTE: Participants must attend all three days to complete the course.
