I believe they are sample plates for the judges, B&B, and Autocrats. A total of 8 sample. Or one plate with 8 spoons.

are these to be full plates or sample plates .... this matters ... that would be alot of food to eat if to many enter and do full servings plates

Quik thing concerning period dishes and scoreing....   some consideration will be given for those who chose to do period dishes with documentation it will be worth a slight weighting of the scoreing process.  Hopefully all have fun and if you want to show off a bit more or challenge yourself just a bit more consider making your dish in period if your able.        O and btw also enough for the autocrats to be able to sample the food don't forget them for running the event....
