Joe Sullivan, Professor of German, OU Dept. of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics presents:
"Walking the Camino de Santiago in 2015 and 2016, through a Professional Medievalist's Eyes"
One of the most important pilgrimage routes of medieval Christendom, the Camino de Santiago ("Way of Saint James") winds through Europe before entering Spain and terminating in the city, Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. As in the Middle Ages, the Camino today brings together thousands of international pilgrims annually, all of whom are seeking something. This talk is based on Prof. Sullivan's experience as a modern pilgrim who walked the Camino through Spain with his wife in the summers of 2015 and 2016. Part reflections of a professional medievalist on the medieval wonders that one can still behold on the "Way," the presentation also aims to give many practical tips for those wishing to undertake their own Camino pilgrimage.
Come learn more about the middle ages just for the fun of learning!
No papers, no tests, just interesting information about life long ago.
