Dear colleagues,
The next Medieval Fair / CMRS talk is coming up soon: March 4th, 6.15-7.30.
This time, Erinn Gavaghan will be presenting Medievalist Obsessions in 19th Century French Art.  The talk will look at the works of artists in the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris at the end of the nineteenth century. This is a time and a place where avant-garde artists were at once the height of modernity and seeking to preserve the nostalgia of simpler times which manifested itself in tendencies in artwork (the use of stained glass in particular) to possess medieval styles and themes.
The talk will take place at Norman Public Library CENTRAL, 103 W Acres St, Norman, OK 73069, in the spacious Oklahoma/Redbud Room on the 3rd floor. The talk will be in-person and live-streamed. Here's the zoom link:
