Heilsa,

These are the rules for NR Warlord Armored Combat, Arts & Sciences and Axe,
Knife and Spear.

Rules for:

NORTHERN REGIONAL WARLORD

ARMORED COMBAT



    1.. Entrant must be a resident of the Northern Region.


    2.. Entrant should have plans to live within the region during his or
her tenure.


    3.. Entrant must have two other fighters on site, armored and ready to
fight in his or her name the day of the tournament.


    4.. Depending on the number of entrants; the day will start with one
team facing another. All missile weapons will be allowed.


    1.. If there are only 2 entrants the final rounds will start right away.


    2.. If there are 3, 4, or 5 entrants they will fight "round robin" each
team facing each other team 2 or 3 times. The two with the best record will
advance to the final rounds.


    3.. If there are 6 or more entrants they will fight a standard double
elimination tournament with random pairings (1st round). The final two will
advance to the final rounds.


Final Rounds

This will be a best of seven.

The first battle will be open field to the last man; each commander will use
the unit they recruited. All missile weapons will be allowed and no time
limit.

Next all fighters, except the commanders, will be pooled then divided into
two roughly equal units (weapons/experience). The winner of a coin toss will
get take the unit of their choice. This will be their unit for the rest of
the day.

The second battle will be open field top the last man. All missile weapons
allowed and no time limit.

The third battle will be a fortress battle; loser of the second chooses
attack or defends. All missile weapons will be allowed with a 30-min. time
limit. Attacker must take the fort to win. The attacker must have 25% more
of his troops inside the fort than the defender to claim victory. Holds stop
the clock.

The forth battle will be a resurrection battle with three flags. Each flag
will have a blue end and a red end. The flags are not mobile. Every
five-min. the timekeeper will count the flags that are up and the color,
each is worth one point. Resurrection will be every 3-min. and a fighter
must be in the resurrection zone at that time to return to the fighting. No
missile weapons will be allowed. Time limit is 30 min. and holds stop the
clock.

The fifth battle will be a fortress battle the same as #3, the loser of the
4th battle chooses attack or defend.

The sixth battle will be a bridge battle to the last man. All missile
weapons allowed.

The seventh battle will be a resurrection battle the same as #4 except all
missile weapons will be allowed.

I reserve the right to change these rules as the need occurs.

1. Three to four items per person.

2. Items must have been made within the past 12 months.

3. Items may only have been entered or displayed in only once prior to this
competition.

4. Documentation is required for each piece. One page or less for each
piece.

5. Entrant must be a resident of the northern region and plan to live within
the region

during his or her tenure.

6. Entrant should be ready to assist the Artisans of the region prepare for
war.

7. Entrant should be prepared to run next years competition.


The judging form created by the Laurels will be used. If you have not seen
this form please call and I will send a copy to help you prepare.

The Axe, Knife and Spear rules will be like the ones used at Gulf War.


       Live Weapons Competition

      The same silhouette as in the previous years will be used but two
bonus sections will be added: A three inch bonus square centered in the head
and a six inch bonus square centered in the solar plexus area. A stick in
the solar plexus bonus area will add one bonus point and a stick in the head
bonus area will add two bonus points to that throw. The three throwing
distances will be 15 feet, 25 feet, and 35 feet. Each competitor will have
ample warm-up time within the outlined time periods. In competition, each
competitor will have one optional ranging throw and six competitive throws
at each distance. At least one of the seven must stick in the target for the
competitor to advance to the next distance. Scoring will be one point at 15
feet, two at 25 feet, and three at 35 feet plus appropriate bonus points.
