Perhaps not. That was why I placed it as my opinion, and clearly expressed
this
as a difference of perceptions. Instead of detailing what was wrong, I was
detailing
what some people had seen as being wrong -- Granted this is hearsay, but
since those
people were not in a position to address those points themselves, not being
on the
Northkeep list. Clearly I have erred.

Actually the use of the religious text was an attempt to point out that the
reason
such texts exist is that this sort of thing can cause easily hurt feelings,
and
anger. Clearly I erred.

Why no, which is why I am addressing such messages as this one person to
whom you
might be speaking.

Gosh, should I expect this to have been directed at me or not? Since I don't
consider myself to be the nemesis of my chosen and rightful leaders (or in
fact
of anyone in the SCA) I suppose it isn't aimed at me :)

However, were it to have been aimed at me, and were I such a person, I
would say
that I would have to be quite foolish to assume that had I done such a
thing that
it would be accepted unconditionally. OTOH, were I such a person, I would
think that
I would be aware enough to realize that even if I were trying to be
helpful, it
could be seen by someone as an attack.

Clearly, since I do not believe that I *am* such a person, and that by your
suggestion
what I saw as a legitimate attempt to be helpful HAS been seen as an
attack, I have
clearly erred.

I wasn't aware that netiquette was being so used.

So, Merrick, if I have erred, and by your comments I must assume that I
have done so,
I apologize to you or to anyone else I have offended or otherwise upset
with my statements
of my opinions. This was certainly not my intention.

Now rather than continue to offend people with my opinions, I will return
to keeping them to myself, which is obviously what I should have done in
the first place. I will not be discussing this topic any further in public.
