I agree entirely with you, Gunny, but I am going to put my head on a limb and
for once voice an opinion...

I think that we (the fighters and anyone else who is possibly going to the war
and will be affected) should vote on the warlord. There are quite a few people
who can fight really well, but have told me themselves that they do not lead
well, nor do they want to. This means that making the winner of a contest the
new warlord obviously is not the best way. I am open to suggestions, but the
idea of voting for a champion, or warlord, seems to be the best way in my mind.
There have been a few tourneys that are even starting to lean towards voting.
This not only chooses the best fighter, but the best person for the position.

Some will say that it would just be a popularity contest and the person who has
the most friends, enemies or political clout will win or lose, however the case
may be. I agree that this could be a problem, but also expect that people who
play a game that is based on the ideals of chivalry, honor, and all the other
knightly virtues can for one moment put aside personal differences long enough
to choose the right person for the job (and a job it is to coordinate the amount
of people and events needed to get everyone to Gulf War).

Okay, there it is, let the feeding frenzy begin...

I return now to silent lurker status,
Gilyan
