Of course then you get the question of whether they should or not. Looking at the
armory of most if not all *real* European nations. The name and the armory have
nothing to do with each other.

I don't recall anyone suggesting that we were. From my perspective this is a
discussion, just like we as a group might be having at an event, in someone's
home, whatever. The people who should make the decisions in this case are
the people, and they will have that chance if the question ever arises.

Did I *say* kingdom? I was referring to anything from having a stronger
regional identity, which is where this discussion sprang from, to anywhere
on up the line that people wanted to take it. Perhaps I didn't make that
clear enough - I apologize for that.

Personally, and for the record, I don't care one way or the other about
principality or kingdom, whether anyone aims for them or not, whether the
region goes for that or not. What sparked my interest in this whole dialogue
what the concept that was raised of looking for a definitive regional identity -
regardless of anything else.

It may have sounded a bit blunt, but it's been obvious to me for many, many
years, that *Ansteorra* is the south, and the rest of us are only part of the
Kingdom because of the mundane state lines. Realistically, we're in the
periphery and that isn't going to change. I've long since gotten over any
annoyance or disappointment that I might have felt about it - it just is.
The precedents were set and the core identity established a long time ago
(by people who, for the most part, were trying to do the best they could),
and crying about that outcome is pointless.

I think you're right. I'll look into it and check.
