Hmmm.  Do I feel arch eyes looking at me?  I don't take sides on the issue,
but I can try to do some translations.  For French, not even trying to add accents
to e-mail:

Hard wind - Vent dur
Swirling winds - Vents qui tourbillones
Ugly weather - Temps laid
Stormy - Orageux
Lightning strike - Greve d'eclair
Griffin in Middle French - Grifon
Griffin's wing - Aile de grifon
Griffin's flight - Vol de grifon

Voldegrifon.  We could do worse.
