Sorry for the off-topic posting, just wanted to hand out some non-SCA info.

For those not attending Pennsic, you might want to listen to "Weekend
Edition" on the coming Saturday. For those at Pennsic who won't see this
until after, you can listen on the NPR website
 http://www.npr.org/programs/wesat/ to be precise).

A friend of mine, semi-retired from the SCA, has been using his artistic
side to develop a project called "Paint the Moon," wherein people from all
over the world are to gather at a set time and try to "paint" a spot on the
moon with laser pointers.

Can it work or is he just crazy? Obviously, the debate will continue until
the dates he has set for the trials (first one is the last weekend in
October).

If you are interested in what some of the media, various scientists, and so
on have to say about it, you can read sites such as:

And if you want to read about the project itself, go to:

"Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood
and probably themselves will not be realized."

Feel free to forward the information along to your friends. I've heard that
USA Today is going to talk with him this week, if you read McNews or have
access to it, you might want to have a look. And a number of other radio
stations and news websites have been talking to him in the last week or so.

                                         ---= Morgan (off to Pennsic
tonight)
