Apparently The ORB moved to a new site.  It is now at
http://the-orb.net/

This is the Online Reference Book for Medieval Studies.  It is a great
place for learning, and an excellent starting point for anyone wanting
to seriously leap off on a new endeavor.

Check out the section called "What every Medievalist Should Know".  Each
category (Arithmetic, Feudalism, Music, etc...) has a list of books and
such.  It says these are intended for graduate students, but don't let
that stop you!  That simply means these are not generalized high school
level reviews of, say, every style of dress since the dawn of time.

There's also sections with information for and about living history
groups.  And online translations and transcriptions of medieval texts. 
And more.
