ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) _ Katie Sauer knew she was a bit old to be sitting on
Santa's lap, but
she sat down at the urging of her friends.

It wasn't until she got up to leave that she found out this was no ordinary
mall Santa.

Santa went down on bended knee, pulled off his glasses, yanked down his
beard and asked her to
marry him.

Santa turned out to be Sauer's boyfriend, Chris Pendergast.

``You had no idea, did you?'' Pendergast asked Sauer as they embraced
Thursday night.

Sauer merely shook her head, smiling broadly.

Oh, by the way, she accepted the marriage proposal.
