I don't know how may people would be interested in this, but if
you
haven't seen them, the June 2001 issue of Antiquity, and the
July/August
2001 issue of Archaeology both have articles on the Irish
influence in the
transformation of early Scotland.  One reason that I find these
worth
mentioning is that while they both examine the evidence, they
both appear
to come up with totally opposing answers (and both arguments
appear
logically valid).
