[Northkeep] To the populace

Ok,
Whew...Well we knew it would happen, we just didn't expect it to be this
quick or quite this vile but, ok.  Here's our response.

First, let me say that the books of our group are open to inspection at any
time by anyone who asks.  This is required by law, not kingdom law, but
federal law since we are a not-for-profit 501c3 organization.  So, that
being said, if anyone, and we do mean anyone, wants to see the books for
themselves just let us know and we will set an appointment for you to do so.

Now, as to the other points in this gentle's missive, well they are just too
funny to address.  Once I got over being angry (Ainar is writing) I just had
to stop and laugh.  Anyone who knows us knows better. We knew there would be
some out there who didn't like the decision made by the crown and that is
ok.  If folks know us they know that we are more than happy to let you
disagree with us.  But don't you dare take other people's fun out of the
game.  If you have a problem with us then come to us and talk to us about
it. We will work out the issue.  If you don't think you can deal with us
then go to Ian or the Crown if you think you need to.

This is how I would like to respond to "Joe Smith's" truth.  Our only agenda
is - let's have fun.  Let's make this the best damn place to be in the SCA.
Let's make it so that the whole dang world goes, "Wow, I would like to be
from Northkeep because THEY ROCK!!!!!"

So, that all addressed, investiture is in November and coming up way way too
fast for some of us :).  Please get in those award recs so that it can be a
really special night.  Many of you have asked what you can do to help and as
soon as we figure out where we are and what needs done, trust us, we will be
asking.

In closing, let's have a great time and enjoy this game.

PS - I just wanted to be sure to thank the populace - not so much for
defending us, although it was lovely to see so many people rise immediately
to our defense - but for making it clear to this person that we, as a group,
will not stand for this kind of hate mongering.  We are too strong and have
been through too much together to let something like this get us, the
Barony, down.  Thank you all for showing that!!!
