Fife, Scotland - 28 February, 2002 - Brighthelm have published a new e-book
"Basic Armouring: A Practical Introduction to Armour Making" by Paul
Blackwell (Master Paul de Gorey), to coincide with the start of the Really
Cool Heavies Event in Harpelstane.

"Basic Armouring" covers armour making techniques to SCA combat rules and
includes many illustrations and cartoons by the author. It is available to
download from the Brighthelm web site in Acrobat PDF format.

Paul Blackwell (Master Paul de Gorey) is a scientist/engineer with an
interest in period armour, fighting styles, dance and cooking.

Brighthelm is an SCA household based in Fife, Scotland. Brighthelm members
play an active role in running the SCA Shire of Harpelstane.

The Really Cool Heavies Event is run by Harpelstane and takes heavy fighting
training to a new level. It is a four day residential training session for
those who take their fighting seriously, and it is hoped that it will
greatly improve the heavy combat standard of the participants. A top-level
trainer has been flown in from the US for the event.
