[Northkeep] Carlisle s new Keep

It is my good pleasure to announce to all the building of a Keep here at
Carlisle.  There will be battles here on Saturday, and possibly Sunday
the first weekend in Oct.  This is held on ground held by King Authur
and is known as King Arthurs Faire.  This is a Demo, much like the
Namron Med Faire is and is not a SCA event.  This event will be held
outside of Stroud Okla North on Hwy 99 4 miles, East 2 miles and North
again 2 miles.  There will be ample signs posted.  There are showers
within a mile of the site.  There will be a feast for 40 to be held
outside that evening for $5 00, but your reservations must be made by
the last weekend in Sept.  Please E Mail me to make reservations at
Farming2 at webtv.net  There will be plenty to eat during the day at inns
around the grounds.  There will be divirs merchants displaying many
goods for sale.  Unlike Namron Med Faire,  this Faire is in amongst many
small towns, and MANY of the people who will come see you will do so for
the first time.  We hope here at Carlisle Keep to attract new members by
your efforts, and so I thank you for coming beforehand.  The entrance
fees are VERY small, if any, for those either fighting or showing
anything to the public having to do with the SCA.  The site is amongst a
VERY Secluded SHADED area with paths winding through it for the
populaces pleasure.  There will be jousting and  (at this time, if I
heard right, 2 engines set up for the populaces throwing enjoyment).
There will be mummers and merchants in plenty.  There is a large parking
area, but we hope it will not be enough . lol,  NOW, ABOUT THE KEEP AND
ITS BATTLES.  The keep is 32 ft  (kinda) square.  It has 8ft walls with
crennelations.  It has a great door, and a sally port door, and a tower
24ft tall with a watchtower on top, an archers gallery below, and a
donjon at the bottom.  There are things about its defense I will not
tell you, BUT, if you esteem yourself to be a Commander, a leader of
men, if you feel the need to try out new stratedgy, or if you can stand
fustration at finding out you are not yet honed down to be yet a leader
or Commander, you need to be here.  We all need more practice at keep
battles, and the leadership, communication,  and skill in taking a keep
as well as defending it.  Archers are very welcome, as are engineers,
but alas, the trees for the last grope will prove fustrating.  Because
of the poplaces watching we will have designated shooting areas for
those doing so.  There will be around 3 to 5 battles through the course
of the day.  This will be regulated by the fact of having other
entertainers putting on their shows near us and we must fit into a tight
schedule.  The battles each will last 40 minutes.  We will be in need of
people to talk to the populace if any are available, please make
yourself known when arriving.  We of Carlisle Keep intend to maintain
the honor of the keep for the first battle.  We will have 10 inside at
each battle, even if we must invite some to join us.  All others will
take the attack.  At the end of the first battle, win or lose,
Northkeep, as our Liege Barony will be invited to maintain  the Keeps
next defense.  Next it will be Moonshadowes chance, and if we have yet
another battle, then all those not yet entering the Keep to defend it
will be givin their chance.  THIS IS A RESERECTION BATTLE.  All those
attacking may reserect at a point behind their lines at any time and
resume the attack at there pleasure.  ALL THOSE KILLED IN THE KEEP WILL
GO TO A POINT BEHIND THE KEEP AND STAY THERE UNTIL A FULL 3/4 OF THEIR
FORCES HAVE BEEN KILLED.  IF 10 ARE IN THE KEEP, THEY MUST STAY AT THE
RESURECTION POINT UNTIL 8 HAVE JOINED THEM.  THEN THEY ALL RETURN EN
MASSE INSIDE THE KEEP AS FAST AS TOLORABLE, AND THEY CANNOT BE ATTACKED
UNTIL ALL ARE IN THE KEEP AND READY TO FIGHT.  If the attackers have
killed all the ground forces (Archers above in the towers must surrender
when all on the ground have been killed to keep from being burned in
their towers) , then they are the victors.  If the beseiged can hold the
keep by even one man on the ground regardless of how many of the
attackers are in the keep with him, then the beseiged win.  There will
be a barrell of ice water at the attackers res point, and one in the
keep.   We can go out between battles and brouse, shop, see, ect, BUT WE
MUST BE READY AND IN ARMOUR BY THE NEXT BATTLE AS WE HOPE TO PUT ON
BATTLES OF SUCH SCOPE THAT WILL  ASTOUND THOSE OF THE POPULACE WHO WATCH
THEM,.  Again I hope to see you there and hope you have a wonderful
