[Northkeep] heraldry

To add to Zahava's comments:
1) No one may have registered what you are considering (as noted).
2) The item in question may have been spelled differently in the middle
ages so you are looking under the wrong spelling. It could have had a
completely different name in the middle ages. Consider that even today
in Britain a car trunk is called a "boot" and a trunk is a chest.
3) It may not be registered because its use in heraldry has either never
been done or is post-middle ages.
4) It may not be registered because it is prohibited for some reason (ie
- swastikas, tudor roses, etc.).
When you start trying to determine whether something meets the rules or
has a conflict, some things are easy. Other times you almost have to
treat your submission like a complex copyright application and get a
lawyer (herald in this case) to assist you.

Or just that it is listed under another catagory *OR*
maybe just maybe no one has registered anything with
it... If it's not in any of the "usual" resources,
then it *might* still be okay-- so long as you can
find a reference for it's use in YOUR period...
