Well, you could use a different word, like rambler, roamer, traveler -
perhaps do it in German and make a play on Volkswagon............. Wagoner
or something like that as a surname........... Heck, look at Eggswyth -
lots of things are documentable. :)

On Chris' questions, two items:
1) You can be "Chris the Wanderer" (and register it) as long as there is
not another "Chris the Wanderer". "Zubeydah the Wanderer" does not give
Zubeydah total control of the descriptive byname "Wanderer"; it only
gives her copyright (sort of) to the entire name "Zubeydah the
Wanderer". It also does not prevent someone else from taking "Zubeydah"
and being "Zubeyday the Baker" or somesuch. She gets registration of
the whole, not the parts.
