This of course presupposes that the reason for doing demos is recruitment.  
Certainly some rectruitment demos are a good thing, but those are not 
educational demos.  My suspicion is that most of the people who have asked 
over the years to come do a demo for them were looking for education, not 
presentations on "look how cool the SCA is".  I'm sorry if this seems harsh, 
but it's something I've given a lot of thought to over the years (probably 
too much thought to :) ).
