Greeting Loving Brothers and Sisters to MY North,
I was naturally first drawn to the Code of honor link on their site.
I am not one to determine fault or flaw. A man can only hold himself
acountable to his personal standards. I leave the adjudication to them, more
familiar.
Maybe they can hold themselves to their own impedimenta of morality. Maybe
no, and thereby disavowing ... yes blah blah etc.
anywho,
Pooky
Here's how it reads:
Code of honor
Your attitude, actions, words, and conduct reflect not only upon you, but in
fact The Entire Guild. It is therefore your responsibility to conduct
yourself in such a way that you bring honor and pride to the Barony of
Northkeep.
A member of the BoN duty is always to his/her Guild...A member of the BoN
does nothing that would bring shame or dishonor to them.
Members of the BoN are honest with themselves and others and lets them know
that he/she will accept nothing but honesty in return. A member of the BoN
should always be above reproach or criticism in the eyes of mankind.
Members of the BoN should always strive to be kind to others, or should
kindness prove impossible, strive to be just.
A member of the BoN does not pass on anything he/she has not personally
witnessed or verified. A member of the BoN never gives unproven hearsay the
weight of truth.
What a member of the BoN has he/she holds! A member of the BoN lets no one
take from them, their guild that which is rightfully and legally theirs.
A member of the BoN offers forgiveness only to those who are truly repentant
of wrongs committed against the member or Guild. When a member of the BoN
offers forgiveness he/she does so with a joyous heart, for to do so
grudgingly is not forgiveness but deceit.
When a member of the BoN gains power or authority, the member using it
carefully and with wisdom. Remembering that both power and authority grow
with experience and as a Elder of the Barony of Northkeep should exercise
both with care and dignity.
A member of the BoN pledges friendship and assistance only to those who are
worthy and honorable. As a member of the BoN work to strengthen those of
your guild and they will strengthen you.
A member of the BoN never reveal the secrets entrusted to him/her by BoN or
friend without permission. Exceptions to this are when keeping the secret
would endanger an innocent, bring unjustified dishonor to another, bring
shame to the guild, allow a criminal to go unpunished, or seriously violate
the laws of the land. In this matter let common sense prevail.
All guild members must heed and follow these guidelines presented before
them. Those who do not follow the Code of Honor are considered dishonorable.
Dishonorable members shame the name of the Guild and are to be punished.
